Persistence

Ok so wow what a week… Persistence. Time for another “Weekly Update” post.

Persistence is key. Without persistence how can you ever achieve anything? Forget about achieving. Without persistence how can you ever “be” in this life? How can you stand your ground and maintain your natural human joy and liveliness? It ain’t easy. The amount of stress inducing overt and covert influences that we are subjected to in life is comical. It’s too much. But it’s ok, because we can handle it. Persistence. You need persistence in life. You need dedication. Persistence is the ability to maintain the quality of your attitudes and inner feelings, the quality of who you are, through all trials and tribulations. Through all adversity. It is the ability to keep going, to keep moving on with your life despite what obstacles you may face. It is the ability to not let things get you down.

Here are a few inspiring quotes on persistence:

  • “A little more persistence, a little more effort, and what seemed hopeless failure may turn to glorious success.” Elbert Hubbard
  • “As long as we are persistent in our pursuit of our deepest destiny, we will continue to grow. We cannot choose the day or time when we will fully bloom. It happens in its own time.” Dennis Waitley.
  • “Persistence and resilience only come from having been given the chance to work through difficult problems.” Gever Tulley

On another ‘note’ I heard a new song recently that really helped lift my spirits to another level so I thought I’d introduce you to the powerful effect music can have on your energy and moods. Your inner feelings and attitudes are the real ‘powerhouse’ of your consciousness and music has a really cool way of engaging directly with your feelings allowing them to come forth and express themselves. Different music can bring about different moods and depending on what you need you can pick specific songs to create specific feelings.

Here are a few examples that you can check out on youtube:

  • Beauty and passion for beauty: “Rusanda Panfili Astor Piazolla – Vuelvo al Sur”. The build up is awesome and if the parts between 3:17 – 4:00 don’t rouse something in your soul then you’re gonna have to email me for a personal consultation.
  • Inner peace, contentment, “centreing”: “Jeff Lang – Whatever Makes You Happy”. Beautiful, peace evoking slide guitar (I think) track.
  • Pure energy/enthusiasm: Foo Fighters – Everlong.
  • Fighter’s Spirit: Rage Against The Machine – Take The Power Back

I hope that opens you up to the idea of using music as a tool in life plus music is awesome anyway so I hope that is helpful in some way. Remeber self-discipline and silence are the keys to stay balanced through all of life’s feelings and experiences. So, take care and until next time…
