It might seem counter productive in such a dog eat dog world, but to develop a pure benevolence in your inner feelings and attitudes towards life and all living things is one of the most deeply profound things one can do, in my view.
First of all the idea of it, of a pure benevolence no matter what, is pretty humbling and awe inspiring. And to cultivate that in your inner sentiments is a great way to be of service to humanity and also a great way to serve yourself.
Because not only is it a beautiful thing, it is also an effective and powerful thing. Maintaining a pure benevolence during adversity and when facing antagonism, will help you stay clear, and allow you to keep moving onward in your life, without getting too tangled in things.
Make no mistake, one needs to be balanced about it all, and there are definitely times when boundaries need to be set and things need to be walked away from. But I think developing a pure benevolence along side a fighter’s spirit (which I wrote about in my previous blog) is an incredibly effective and grounded way of approaching life and all of its challenges. Obviously, there are many other attributes and skills to develop, but that’s a pretty good combination right there.
To develop it, again it’s all about deciding to approach things in a better way and training that ability until you can use it effectively and have a good understanding of how it works.
